Day 267- Megan, 15, Glasgow

I volunteering at an Equestrian centre every Wednesday and Sunday which I really enjoy and would like to be a vet at uni after I leave school.

Which young Scot inspires you?
The young scot who inspires me is my family since they get me involve in do more to help other people like volunteering at stables, care home which I dint think was something I would like but it has made me more confident in myself and other people.

What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about growing up in Scotland is I think we have more opportunities than other counties and I think Scotland is such a beautiful place with sight seeing and loads of activities although it can be freezing at times I just love Scotland and wouldn’t move away from it.

What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
I would like older generations to know that not all young people are the same some are really helpful and kind and just to give young people a chance before judging because young people can shock you about how nice and caring they are.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am most proud of getting more confident and making and trusting new people which I wouldn’t have done if I didn’t start volunteering which has boosted my confidence massively which I still cant believe I always thought I would be the quiet one in class which I am but I talk to other people I didn’t think I would talk to which is amazing.

What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would love to achieve good grade in school and apply for uni and become a vet and work with animals that need my help other achieve I would like to do is find my half sisters which I haven’t seen since they where born because I’m in foster care so it would be amazing to find them and explain our family to them.

What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
I would just say be grateful for everything and everyone you have around you and always help someone who need you and maybe try something new like a new hobbies or a new food or just spend family whatever make you happy continue to do it and make new goals each time you achieve one.
