Lucy is going into S5 and volunteers with disabled children. For a week Lucy has taken care of a disabled 18 year old girl. Lucy is also an ambassador for YoYP 2018.
Which young Scot inspires you?
My parents and sisters inspire me to achieve my full potential. My teachers inspire me to live life to my greatest potential and to always give back to those less fortunate than me and help volunteer to help their lives. I always want to help others.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about growing up in Scotland is the opportunities. I get to meet so many people from different backgrounds and who think so differently and who are able to work out problems in so many ways. I love the vast volunteering opportunities and showcasing our gifts and talents.
What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
I would like older generations to know that young people have a voice as well as them and we have great ideas and can be great assets to solve problems. We are able to help cheers up the elderly and help out.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am most proud of being able to use my talents and gifts to help others. Also playing other people at chess and being able to learn and grow my strategies to become very good at the game and winning tournaments.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
In the future, I would like to achieve all As in my exams to ensure I can go to University and be able to have my chosen career path.
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
I would say that we should all work to our hardest abilities to ensure we have the best possible future for ourselves. This is important to ensure we have the best possible situation for every person.
