Abbie is doing work experience with the Mull and Iona Ranger Service.
Which young Scot inspires you?
Laura Muir inspires me because she isn’t as tall as the other athletes and still manages to do really well and she runs the same distances as me.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about growing up in Scotland is the wildness of the landscape.
What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
Not every young person is always glued to their phones. This is important to me as older generations often think young people are always on their phones.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
Choosing to do work experience with the Iona and Mull Rangers Service and chosing to focus on the people aspect. This was a big achievement because I am very bad at talking to people.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would like to get better at talking to people.
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
Go outside and visit wild places. This is important to me because wild places aren’t appreciated as much as they should be so if more people go out and visit wild places they will be more appreciated and therefore more effort will be made to protect these places.
