Andrea is in Princes Trust.
Which young Scot inspires you?
The person that inspires me is my nephew, after what he has went through he’s still standing and confident, happy and moving on with his life. He didn’t care about anything at all and is the most happiest little boy in the world.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about growing up in Glasgow is the fact that all my family are here, iv recently got in contact with ones iv never met or seen in the longest time ever. Most people in Glasgow are nice and welcoming
What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
I would like them to know that not all young people are bad, there’s kind caring ones out there that want to help you with your shopping , help you cross the road and most off us have problems and don’t mean to be the way we are.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am most proud of staying sober for a whole year, not lifting a drink of alcohol to date and making me and my family proud. It’s not easy staying sober while all my friends are out drinking but it’s what I need to do. I’m always proud off getting my mental health sorted and over coming my biggest fears in life.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would like to go into a job with good career paths, good money and somewhere warm like America. I would like to start standing on my own two feet and not having everyone guide me anymore, I would also like to become more confident in goi g places my self again.
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
I would say to young people” if you have a problem weather is alcohol, gambling, drugs, anxiety, depression or anything at all” because when you get to my age your life goes down hill, you miss days (black outs), you don’t k ow what’s happening or going on. You’ll have a new chance at life and to be happy but you need to want it and work for it.
