Which young Scot inspires you?
I would say the young Scot that inspires me would be myself because what I was a few months ago is a completely different person and to become the person I am now is just inspiring every day. I will look at myself in the mirror and sometimes I don’t even believe who I’ve become.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The scenery. You can go just about anywhere in Scotland and you will get nice scenery. I was just in the mountains a few months ago and I didn’t realise how beautiful Scotland was until I went out and experienced it myself.
What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
The youth of today goes through so much stuff that older generations just don’t understand. I don’t ask them to understand but I ask them to know that we are trying to go through our own problems and make a difference in our own wee way.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am really thankful to be part of YSThree which is an amazing opportunity to be part of Young Scot. I have always wanted to make a difference and this has given me the most perfect opportunity that I could ask for.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
The biggest thing I want to achieve is to really make an impact. I want to go out and make people aware of all the issues going on and know how to improve and make a difference.
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
Go out there and experience things you’re not comfortable doing. Too many times I hear people say ‘I don’t want to do this- what if it goes wrong?’. The fact is anything can go wrong but you’re never going to achieve anything if you don’t go wrong somewhere.
