Day 195- Ryan, 12, Aberdeen

Ryan volunteers my time away from school to supporting disabled people enjoying social inclusion. I begin secondary school after the summer.

Which young Scot inspires you?
My mentor, David Forbes, inspires me to do all I can for my local community and to do the best I can to help others, just as he does.

What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
Living in Aberdeen, there is nothing like being at home doing what I do on a daily basis.

What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
As a young person, we are keen and eager to show the older generation what we can actually achieve.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
Collecting McDonald’s Monopoly Tokens which gives away free food and drink and donating to helping a local homeless charity. I also received local press coverage.

What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would really like to meet Nicola Sturgeon; I would also like to be a YouTube gamer as I love playing games

What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
Volunteering is really important and I think everyone should do something to help as it gives you lots of life experience.
