Day 189- Lewis, 16, Aberdeen

Lewis currently volunteers to help the most vulnerable within his community and is also at school.

Which young Scot inspires you?
I am inspired by my mentor David Forbes, who has supported me throughout my volunteering because what he has achieved in his life, running a voluntary charity and caring for his disabled mother.

What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
Society is what you make of it so to do volunteering regularly makes people come together, creating a positive atmosphere.

What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
Many older people have that stigma that all young people are bad, but what I’ve achieved shows this is not the case.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
I have a special film that has been produced by my mentor which shows all of the success that I have had throughout my time of volunteering.

What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I want to reach my 500 hours of volunteering Saltire Award, as I want a special film to inspire a cross generation.

What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
With the right level of support you can achieve what you want in life.
