Arianne volunteers for the Young Scot Mental Health Commission.
Which young Scot inspires you?
My brother really inspires me because he went through so much and has some mental health problems but he’s always happy and puts a smile on everyone’s face and for everyone who told him he wouldn’t go far, he proved them wrong and now sells his paintings with a smile on his face.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about Scotland is the people I have met that have helped me through hard times when growing up.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
My biggest achievement is getting the family I have now because I am in care. It took my whole life but now I finally have them and they are perfect for me.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would most like to be happy and to prove people that say I won’t get anywhere in life because I am in care or I hadn’t had an education until 5 years ago, wrong because I can and have gotten so far already!
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
Be yourself no matter what, because you’re one of a kind and there is a quote everyone should listen to which is ‘the original is worth more than a copy’, which means that you are worth more when you be yourself!
