Day 70- Mackenzie, 17, Irvine

It’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week! This week, we will be sharing the stories of young apprentices working throughout Scotland to celebrate the opportunities available to young people, and the young people who shine in these positions!

Mackenzie is a 17 year old from Irvine currently completing a Modern Apprenticeship in Youth Work.


Which young Scot inspires you?
My friends really inspire me.

What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
I like Irn-Bru.

What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
I want older generations to know young people are kind and caring.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
My biggest achievement was getting my Modern Apprenticeship.

What would you most like to achieve in the future?
I would most like to be able to work with people with additional support needs.

What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
Be who you are and don’t let anyone get you down.
