Josh (15), is a in his 4th year at Rothesay Academy, as well as studying at Argyll College UHI for a Foundation Apprenticeship. Josh also volunteers at Mounth Stuart House seasonally.
Which young Scot inspires you?
The young person who inspires me is Jamie Murray. He has been elected as MSYP twice in a row and strives to do what is right for the youngsters in Argyll and Bute.
What is the best thing about growing up in Scotland?
The best thing about growing up in Scotland is the music and traditions, as well as the people. It is a friendly, welcoming place with fantastic scenery and no limits of what you can achieve.
What would you most like people from older generations to know about young people?
I would like older generations to realise that not all young people are bad. Not all drink or smoke and most of all that the potential of youth should be maximised.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am most proud of being accepted on to my Foundation Apprenticeship. Also achieving general excellence in school 3 years running.
What would you most like to achieve in the future?
In the future I would really like to become an electrical and civil engineer. I would like to work with a high-end company and be successful in life.
What message would you like to give to other young people in Scotland?
The message I would like to give is follow your ambitions. Do what makes you happy. Don’t let anyone stop you being you and reach your full potential.
